Dr. Irina Petĸova graduated with excellent grades from the Medical University “Prof. Dr. Parasĸev Stoyanov”, Sofia. Her interest in Diagnostic Imaging began during her studies, and in 2018 she was appointed to the position of Demonstrator in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy. As such, she takes an active part in leading classes for both Bulgarian and English-speaking medical students, as well as X-ray laboratory technicians. Her professional interests are mainly focused on cardiovascular imaging. Currently, is also working as an assistant professor in the same specialty at the Department of Physiology, Biophysics and Radiology at the BSU “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov”, Sofia. Burgas. In May 2025 he acquired a specialty in “Diagnostic Imaging”.

He is a member of the Bulgarian Medical Union (BLS), the Bulgarian Association of Radiology (BAR), the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR).
