COVID-19 survivors have a significantly increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications, regardless of the severity of the course of infection

The fact that you experienced COVID-19 immediately puts you in the “citizens at increased risk for cardiovascular and brain complications” column. For every survivor, there is a 73% increased risk of developing heart failure and a 66% increased risk of developing rhythm disturbances in the year following diagnosis. The risk of developing a life-threatening condition such as myocardial infarction increased by 61% and for stroke by 48%. Long-term complaints are recorded in 80% of sufferers. Their duration can exceed one year!
