Anesthesiology and intensive care

About the clinic:
The anesthesiology and intensive care clinic consists of a section dedicated to treating patients following a cardiac surgery intervention (led by Dr. Kenan Mehmedov), a section for treating patients after neurosurgery interventions (led by Dr. Anna Lazarova), a section dedicated to treating patients following orthopedic and traumatological interventions (led by Dr. Valentin Milev), and a section for the treatment of patients with COVID (led by Dr. Vladislav Genov).

The clinic has the highest grade of contemporary equipment which, combined with the vast experience of our team, guarantees a world-class level of anesthesiology and intensive care.

Activities:
Our clinic routinely uses video-laryngoscopic and bronchoscopic methods of access for the treatment of the upper and lower respiratory tract, ultra-sound and neuro-stimulation approaches in order to perform precise and highly effective locoregional anesthesia needed in thoracic and abdominal surgery, as well as in surgical interventions in orthopedic and traumatology, vascular surgery and neurosurgery clinics.

The clinic has pain management capabilities controlled by the patients (PCA), which constitute a safe and effective way of treatment of the pain disorder, as well as PiCCO systems for constant evaluation of patients’ hemodynamic status, based on advanced hemodynamics and volume monitoring (transpulmonary thermodilution and pulse contour analysis).

PiCCO technology, combined with ultrasound and other healthcare technologies, allows to measure all types of invasive pressures and provides maximum objectivity for the hemodynamic monitoring of a patient.
