Yordan Valeshkov, MD graduated in medicine from the Medical University in Pleven in 1992. He worked as a general surgeon in Dolni Dabnik and as an orthopedic-traumatologist at the University Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology at MU Pleven. He obtained a specialty in orthopaedics and traumatology at MU Sofia and defended his doctoral thesis at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia.
Dr. Valeshkov has numerous specializations in Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Israel, USA in the field of primary and revision hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty, minimally invasive and innovative techniques in difficult primary and revision arthroplasty, modern navigation techniques in orthopedics and orthopedic trauma. He has undergone successful training with the Swiss Osteosynthesis in Trauma Task Force and has instructor privileges. He holds national certifications in hip and knee arthroplasty, arthroscopy of large joints, and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. Dr. Valeshkov is a lecturer at courses organized by the Swiss Recon group.
His professional interests are in the field of primary and revision arthroplasty of large joints, orthopaedic trauma, paediatric orthopaedics, minimally invasive techniques in joint reconstruction, echo-diagnosis and follow-up of the problematic paediatric hip joint, treatment of infected arthroplasty.
