Prof. Viliyan Platikanov is the head of the anaesthesiology and intensive care clinics in Pleven and Burgas.

He graduated from Medical University Pleven in 1984. He defended his doctoral thesis and received the scientific and research degree “Doctor” in 2000, “Associate Professor” in 2005 and “Professor” in 2013. He has a Master’s degree in Health Management.

She has specialised in Austria, Germany and England. He is a national consultant in transplantology (2009), a member of the Council and representative of Bulgaria in the European Association of Anaesthesiologists (2012 and 2013). His clinical and scientific interests are in the field of transplantology, anaesthesia and intensive care, treatment of acute and chronic pain.

Prof. Platikanov is a member of the most renowned Bulgarian and world societies, organizations and expert councils in his field, including, The Scientific Council of the Osteocenter Bulgaria Tissue Transplantation Program, the Expert Council for the Preparation of Regulations for the Implementation of the Organ, Tissue and Cell Transplantation Act, the European Association of Anesthesiologists, the European Association of Tissue Banks, the Specialized Scientific Council for Surgery at the VA, advisor to the Minister of Health; member of the Council of the European Association of Anesthesiologists ESA. He is also a national consultant in anaesthesiology and intensive care, member of the expert council on anaesthesiology and intensive care at the Ministry of Health, member of the expert group at the European Directorate of Quality of medicine (EDQM) at the Council of Europe.
