Prof. Nikolay Nikolov, MD is the Head of the Rheumatology Clinic at the Heart and Brain Hospital, Pleven. He graduated from the Medical University – Pleven, has specialties in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. For many years he was the head of the rheumatology clinic at the University Hospital “Georgi Strranski”, Pleven. Prof. Dr. K. Nikolov has prominent professional and scientific interests in diagnostics, inpatient and outpatient treatment, prophylaxis and consultation of rheumatological diseases and systemic connective tissue diseases. He is the author of specialized medical literature and over 30 publications in Bulgarian and foreign media. He has participated in more than 30 Bulgarian and international rheumatological congresses. For his successes he has received numerous awards. The public engagements of prof. Nikolov’s public activities include chairmanship of the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Red Cross – Lovech. He was awarded the “Doctor of the Year” prize in 2007 and is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers.
