Assoc. Prof. Maria Gaydarova graduated in medicine at the Medical University of Sofia in 1998. She has acquired specialties in pediatric diseases (2007) and pediatric nephrology and hemodialysis (2011). Her clinical interests include urinary tract infections, congenital anomalies of the urinary tract and imaging of the urinary tract.
Assoc. Gaidarova has more than 20 years of experience – assistant in hemodialysis department, worked in pulmonology clinic with intensive care, then became chief assistant and later – head of pediatric nephrology and hemodialysis clinic (2015-2016).
She specialized in Greece and France. She defended her PhD thesis on “Epidemiology, clinical course and prognostic factors in acute nephritis in childhood”. She was elected Associate Professor in 2017. She obtained a qualification in “Conventional ultrasonography – abdominal ultrasonography in childhood – level I and II”.
Assoc. Gaidarova has more than 60 publications in national and international journals, is the author of textbooks on pediatrics, participates in 7 projects at the Ministry of Education and Science and MU, in Bulgarian and international congresses, conferences on pediatrics and nephrology. He is a member of the Bulgarian Paediatric Association, the Bulgarian Medical Association, the Bulgarian Nephrology Society, the European Paediatric Association, the European Academy of Paediatrics and the World Paediatric Organisation.
