Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Manchev graduated from the Medical Faculty of the Trakia University in Stara Zagora and since 2010 has been working as a radiologist at the University Hospital “Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich” in the city. In 2013 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Radiology, and since 2016 he has been a Senior Assistant Professor. In 2014, he was appointed as an associate professor of radiology. Manchev successfully defended his thesis. In 2018, he was elected Associate Professor of Medical Radiology and Radiology at the same faculty, and since 2020 he has been the Head of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and MBC.

Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Manchev is the author and co-author of about 40 scientific publications, including three monographs in the UK. Most of his scientific works are in the field of neuroradiology. As a lecturer Assoc. Manchev independently conducts the lecture courses on Diagnostic Imaging in Bulgarian and English for the medical students at the Medical Faculty and the practical exercises for the English speaking students. He is also a lecturer at the Medical Colleges in Stara Zagora and Haskovo, at the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care, the Medical College of the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” – Burgas, a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the University “Asen Zlatarov” – Burgas.

Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Manchev holds certificates for qualification courses in the main methods in Imaging Diagnostics: computed tomography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance tomography, invasive and interventional radiology, etc.

From 2022 Assoc. Manchev is the Head of the Department of Imaging Diagnosis.
