Ivelin Koev, MD earned his medical degree from Varna Medical University in 2014. Following postgraduate training in Strasbourg, France, he received an International Medical Association Bulgaria (IMAB) scholarship to pursue cardiology specialization at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel, achieving Consultant Cardiologist certification in 2020. Subsequently, he joined the electrophysiology team of Prof. Luria and Prof. Belhassen, enhancing his expertise in the field of arrhythmias.
Between 2022 and 2024, Dr. Koev undertook advanced subspecialty training and fellowship in Invasive Electrophysiology at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, UK, under the supervision of Professor Andre Ng (President of the British Cardiovascular Society). He obtained Consultant Electrophysiologist certification from the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) in 2024. His professional development includes participation in numerous courses across Europe, including Birmingham and London (UK), Brussels (Belgium), Vienna (Austria), Paris (France), and Lugano (Switzerland).
Dr. Koev actively engages in high-impact research, serving as a co-investigator on multiple clinical trials. His research focuses on atrial fibrillation, innovations in electrophysiology, and their clinical applications. He is a key member of the team that established the world’s first Atrial Fibrillation Virtual Ward. He has presented his research findings at numerous international cardiology and electrophysiology conferences throughout Israel, the UK, and Europe, and has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Koev is proficient in English, Russian, French, and Hebrew.
In 2025, he joined the electrophysiology team, led by Dr Protich, in ‘Heart and Brain’ Hospital, Burgas.
