Ivan Mindov, MDNeurosurgeon

Dr. Ivan Mindov graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Trakia University, Stara Zagora. He is a specialist in neurosurgery and interventional pain therapy.

His professional career began at the University Hospital “Prof. Stoyan Kirkovich” in Stara Zagora and later continued in departments of neurosurgery, spinal surgery, orthopedics, emergency surgery, and pain therapy in Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. med. P. A. Weidle and Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Jürgen Hampl. He is currently part of the Neurosurgery Department at “Heart and Brain” Hospital, MC 2 – Burgas, and MC “St. Ivan Rilski” – Karnobat.

From 2016 to 2020, Dr. Mindov was a PhD candidate in Neurosurgery, successfully defending his dissertation on “The Role of VEGF-alpha/beta in the Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Therapeutic Approach in Patients with Primary Brain Tumors.”

His scientific interests include microneurosurgery, minimally invasive spinal surgery, pain therapy, and oncological neurosurgery.

Dr. Mindov has completed numerous postgraduate training courses, including: “D.A.C.H. Expert Spinal Course” – Modules 1, 2, and 3 Hands-On, Essen, Germany; Course in Interventional Pain Therapy, Zurich, Switzerland; Course in Microsurgical Techniques in Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery, Cologne, Germany; Course in Endoscopic Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery, Homburg, Germany; DACH NEO Technology Expert Course, Zurich, Switzerland. He also holds a certificate in transfontanelle ultrasonography in infants and newborns for the diagnosis of intracerebral and intraventricular malformations (2017).

Dr. Mindov is a member of several professional organizations, including the Bulgarian Medical Association (BLS), the Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgery (BDNH), EANS and SeENS (Europe), ÄKNo, DWG, and DGNC (Germany). He is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
