Svetla Gecheva, MD is Head of the Immunology Laboratory at the Heart and Brain Center of Clinical Excellence in Pleven. She graduated from the Medical University in Pleven in 2000. She specialized in Clinical Immunology (2007) and Clinical Laboratory (2016).
Professional career: She worked at the Clinical Immunology Laboratory at the G. Stranski University Hospital in Pleven. In the period 2007-2014 she was Honored Clinical Immunology assistant at the department of Clinical Laboratory, Clinical Immunology and Allergology of the Medical University in Pleven. From 2014 to 2017 she continued her professional career at the Clinical Laboratory of Adjibadem City Clinic Tokuda Hospital. She became part of the team of the Heart and Brain Hospital Pleven in 2017.
She participated in scientific projects of the Medical University in Pleven in the field of inherited and acquired thrombophilia in pregnancy (2006 – 2013), as well as in long-term qualification courses, in the field of clinical immunology and laboratory. She is co-author in scientific articles in Bulgaria and foreign medical magazines. She is a member of the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS), the Clinical Laboratory Association and the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria.
