Rumen Tsvetanov, MD graduated medicine in 1984 in Medical university of Plevcen. He has a specialization in surgery in 1992 and specialization in vascular surgery in 1999 in Medical University of Sofia. He has completed a training in thoracic surgery in National oncology center and specializations in vascular surgery and angiology in Saint Ekaterina University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment and National Cardiology Hospital Sofia. He has worked as an Ordinator in the Vascular surgery department in Hristo Botev Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment Vratsa since 1999. Since 2000 until 2008 he was Head of the Vascular surgery department in Hristo Botev Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment Vratsa. Since 2018 until 2019 he worked as a vascular surgeon in Medica Ruse University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment.

Since 01.01.2020 he is a part of the team of Head and brain center of excellence Pleven.
