Rositsa Dimova, MD graduated the Medical University of Sofia in 2016. She has completed general surgery residency at the “N.I. Pirogov” UMBALSM – Sofia. Prior to her residency Dr. Dimova volunteered in The Emergency Surgical Department for 5 years during her medical studies. She was a member of The Antibiotic Policy Committee of the Hospital. Her practice is primarily focused on minimally invasive abdominal and thoracic surgeries and emergency surgery.
Dr. Dimova completed courses in wound treatment (post-operative, vascular, diabetic, infectious and others). Every year she actively participates in the sessions of the EWMA – European Wound Management Association Congresses. Her research interests are in the field of difficult healing wounds and reconstructive surgery. Participated as a surgeon in an international team together with Prof. Darina Krastinova (France) and Prof. Michel Jazinski (France), focusing on complex reconstructive operations in patients after traumatic, post-operative, congenital or oncological deformities.
She has completed series of certified courses related to Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgeries led by Prof. Diego González Rivas and Prof. Tomas Štupnik. She is a member of the Bulgarian and European Associations for Wound Care. Dr. Dimova is author and co-author of scientific publications in Bulgarian and foreign journals, mainly in the field of emergency and oncological surgery. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
In the beginning of 2023 Dr. Dimova became part of the is part of the Thoracic Surgery Department of ‘Heart and Brain’ Burgas.
