Assoc. Prof. Milko Mirchev graduated in medicine at MU-Varna. He obtained a specialty in gastroenterology in 2014. From 2011 to 2014 he was successively assistant professor, senior assistant professor and associate professor of gastroenterology, participating in the training of undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students. In 2006, he was a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in. “Clinical significance of microsatellite instability and promoter DNA methylation in patients with colorectal cancer”. He specialized in gastroenterology (Germany, Netherlands), hepatology and transplantology (Switzerland), gastrointestinal endoscopy (Germany, UK), interventional endoscopy (Germany). His professional interests are mainly in the field of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.
He holds expert level certificates in abdominal ultrasonography and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Author of a number of publications in specialized medical journals, numerous participations as a lecturer in Bulgarian and foreign forums. Member of the Bulgarian Society of Gastroenterology, the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE), the European Crohn-Colitis Organization (ECCO).
Assoc. Prof. Mirchev is Head of the Gastroenterology clinic.
