Dr. Dimitar Lambovski is a general and thoracic surgeon with more than 7 years of medical experience. Dr. Lambovski specialized in oncological and thoracic surgery, as well as surgery of the diaphragm, stomach and esophagus. He provides advanced treatment for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and various types of diaphragmatic hernias.

Dr. Lambovski graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of St. Kliment Ohridski University, Sofia, in 2016. He completed part of his medical education at Mahidol University-Thailand Siriraj Hospital Bangkok.

He started his career at the Medical Center of the University of Medical Sciences. He started his career in the hospital as head of the resuscitation team. He became part of the team of the IV Surgical Clinic as a specialist at the University Hospital “N.I. Pirogov” – Sofia, his practice is mainly focused in the field of minimally invasive abdominal, thoracic and emergency surgery. In 2022 he acquired a specialty in surgery. In 2023 he underwent an exchange training program in minimally invasive thoracic surgery in Shanghai, China at Shanghai Chest Hospital under Prof. Wentao Fang, MD.

His surgical interests are mainly in the areas of surgical, thoracic and abdominal surgery. He has authored and co-authored scientific publications in national and international journals mainly in the field of emergency, thoracic and oncologic surgery. He has undergone a number of trainings in the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery, led by some of the world’s best specialists in the field – prof. Diego Rivas (Uniportal VATS Masterclass) and prof. Tomáš Štupnik (Introduction to VATS segmentectomy).

His leading research and surgical interests are in the field of surgery for diseases of the diaphragm, including congenital, acquired and traumatic diseases. He is fluent in English and German.

Since the beginning of 2022 Dr. Lambovski is part of the team at the thoracic surgery department in ‘Heart and Brain’ Burgas.
