Boris Borisov, MD graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2011. He started working as a surgery specialist at the General, Liver and Biliary Surgery Clinic at the University Hospital “Alexandrovska Hospital”. From 2013 to 2019 she worked and specialized in the First Surgical Clinic at the University Pirogov Hospital. She worked at the Department of Surgery of St. Pyrogov University Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alexander Chervenyakov. In 2018 he acquired a specialty in surgery. In 2019, he became part of the team of the Breast Surgery Clinic at the SofiaMed Hospital, and in 2022 he acquired a specialty in breast surgery. In 2022, he completed a professional qualification course in Health Management at the Medical University of Sofia.

Dr. Borisov has over 10 years of experience in the field of thoracic and abdominal surgery. He improved his skills and acquired additional professional qualifications in laparoscopic and video-assisted thoracic surgery – Advanced VATS course certificate (Leeds, UK, 2019). He successfully completed a fibreoptic bronchoscopy course at the Medical University in Sofia. In 2022, he received his first assistant certificate in robotic thoracic surgery (London, UK).

Dr. Borisov’s professional interests are mainly focused in the field of thoracic surgery – diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs, chest wall, pleura, trachea and bronchitis, esophagus, stomach and mediastinum. He has participated in a number of national and international congresses.

Dr. Borisov has been the head of the department of thoracic surgery at ‘Heart and Brain’ Pleven since February 2024.
