Andrey Hristov, MD graduated from the University of Medical Sciences – Pleven. He started his work experience in the District Hospital in the town of. After that he was part of the team of the Emergency Department of the University Hospital – Pleven and the Clinic of Neonatology.
He is a long-standing national consultant in neonatology for Central North Bulgaria. Intensive neonatal therapist with experience in primary and prolonged resuscitation and intensive care of newborns.
Dr. Hristov has enviable experience in the care and treatment of extremely immature neonates, respiratory and neurological pathology, conducting parenteral nutrition, and follow-up of at-risk neonates.
He is board certified in abdominal and transfontal ultrasonography. He has implemented and conducted almost all existing and innovative models in neonatology. He has trained neonatology fellows, taught medical students – English speaking as well as obstetrics students. He has actually conducted all required certified trainings and courses.
His main motive is working in a European neonatology structure in terms of equipment and staff. Such is the Department of Neonatology at the Heart and Brain Hospital Pleven. A structure that the Bulgarian woman and her child deserve.
Dr. Hristov is the head of the neonatology department.
