Ivaylo Tonchev, MDcardiolog

Ivaylo Tonchev, MD graduated in Medicine in 2013 and in Health Management in 2016 at the Varna Medical University.

After a year working in the internal medicine department and emergency center at the University Hospital in Varna, he won a residency program to specialize in cardiology at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, where he worked under the direct supervision of Prof. Chaim Lothan was under the supervision of Prof. Chaim Lothan. At the end of his residency, he started a fellowship program in the field of rhythm and conduction disorders, in the team of prof. David Luria and prof. Bernard Belhassen. During his specialization, he was teaching assistant at the Medical University of Jerusalem.

In 2020, he started a specialized fellowship in electrophysiology and pacing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Melbourne, Australia, under the supervision of prof. Jonathan Kalman. He underwent specialized training courses in electrophysiology and pacing in Vienna, Tel-Aviv and Monaco.

Dr. Tonchev’s professional and scientific interests are in the field of clinical cardiology, invasive electrophysiology and pacing. Over the years, he has actively participated in international congresses and seminars, where he has been honored with awards and prizes for the scientific papers presented. He has more than 10 scientific publications in prestigious international medical journals such as EUROPACE, JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, Heart, Lung and Circulation, Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, etc.

Since 2022 he has been part of the team of the Heart and Brain Center of Excellence in Burgas and actively participates in the treatment of patients with rhythm and conduction disorders.
