Andrey Andreev, MDcardiac surgeon

Andrey Andreev, MD graduated from the Medical University of Plovdiv with honors in 2012. He won a scholarship and started specializing in cardiac surgery at the Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel under the supervision of Prof. Oz Shapira. In 2017, he started working at the University Hospital San Raffaele in Milan upon invitation of one of the innovators in the field of mitral reconstruction, Prof. Alfieri, where he completed an intensive course under his supervision. After the end of his specialization, he stayed at Hadassa and obtained an additional qualification with a focus on “Myocardial Revascularization”.

At the end of 2019, he followed a course in innovative technique for mini-invasive mitral reconstruction “NeoChord” in Porto, Portugal. In 2020, he received a certificate of completion from the Harvard University in the ”Improving Global Health” course. In 2021, he defended a Master’s degree in Health Management at the Pleven University. His professional interests include: coronary revascularization of the beating heart, congenital heart malformations, aortic valve replacement.
